Addendum: Since this story aired, both Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer were sentanced to eight years in prison by an Iranian court. All have since been released.
Corrections: Josh Fatal had been traveling elsewhere prior to joining Sarah Shourd and Shane Bauer, but did not reside in Damascus. Also, Shourd was released from prison in September 2010, not August. Finally , the three were NOT aware of Iranian Kurdish guerrillas operating in the far north of the country. They simply took a well-traveled, tourist road to the Ahmad Awa waterfall.
