Check out what is interesting to a 6 year old boy with autism. He is my my nephew, and i never really understood his mindset until now.

A photo journey into the world of a six-yea- old boy with moderate Autism. See his love and fear of the object world, as he profoundly expresses himself from behind the camera lens. Anyone who knows about Autism will understand the significance of the photos he captures. This slideshow is done in honor of Autism Awareness Month.

The pictures are amazing. It is so great to see the world through a child's eyes. The music was very fitting too. It is inspiring to see an autistic child with such amazing talent. I wish we knew the cause of Autism and how to prevent it. I know that many doctors have their ideas, but at least we are able to now diagnose it. Truly inspiring.

I could not help but realize as the pictures went by that I was witnessing a mathematician's artistic scientist develop. There is so much in this world worth observing, finding wonderment and noting - only through the eyes of a six year old could so much truth in beauty be found. I hope the parents are setting aside funds for their child to study at places such as MIT Media Lab, Carnegie - Mellon or Cal Tech. We need more incredibly thoughtful and perceptive people in the world!

My son has Asperger's and has a great sense of the technical and artistic, like this young guy. I made my son a blog so he could post his videos and art. When you look at their art, you can really feel how much we normalize our viewpoints to 'fit in'. Maybe we can all take a page from autism? His blog is igavin.mccalmont.org

I think it is great that you have made a blog so that your son can post his videos and art. It sounds like he is truly talented and it is always important to embrace talents. The art and photographs really put things into perspective about what is important in life. You never know, your son could be the next great North American artist!

Antipsychotic drugs are now a big issue in United States. It became a big issue because they are now being given to children ages 2 and below. It has really caused an outrage to some parents because some of their children who have taken this drug has become sedated or at least drooling and overwieght.Parents don't like this kind of reaction to the bodies of their children. That's why we need to question ourself, is it really necessary for this kids to get or take this so called "antipsychotic" drugs? The answer is we don't know yet.I hope that the doctors will not use this as a way to treat children with ADHD, or autism for that matters. It is not for sure the first solution to this problem.Children are by nature have their own ways of coping with the world. They do their own way to answer their curiousity. Also, I think that it is not age appropriate if these toodlers or infants will receive medicines at very high doses. They are still very young and their bodies may have a hard time adjusting to thje drugs given.

Sometimes in the middle of walking forward he would turn right around & start walking backwards, all while laughing and cracking him self up! lol :-)

Raising my son wasn't always easy, but my Son taught me so much about patience & how to see things in a unique way! My Son made life very interesting!! He'll be 24 this month!
