Framed for Murder? Running from the Gaurds, Panhandling in DC

Glynn,

We met at Summit series- vasectomy story...   you have the jist of that one already...  here are a couple more where that came from...

i was 20 years old and my first time in europe...  6 weeks- 6 stories- here are the bare bones on two:

1. Bourge St. Maurice France (just down the hill from Les Arcs Ski area) - USA Team member for kayaking-   Bastille Day.   I fail to strike a conversation with blonde on the fence watching fireworks....  Next day citroen driver stops at USA campsite looking for "eric jackson?" in his thick french accent.    i raise my and accept the invitation to take a drive in his car.   30 minutes later on a mountain dirt road, in silence, we stop the car and I hear gun shots.   he walks up the hill asking me to stay in the car...  after pointing my way and talking with the gunner, he waves me up the hill and hands me a second gun.    I accept, feeling the odds are more even that way......     (it gets good after that)

2. Too young to rent a car, and not interested in seeing castles with the couple i was driving with, I stay behind for an extra day of training.    Ooops, i left my passport and wallet, and shoes/clothes in the car and they are off from Germany to Austria.  (this is 1984, during serious borders)   I bum a ride with a fellow team mate to the border but at 10pm he chickens out and wont' sneak me accross in the trunk and leaves me there.   50 degrees and raining, I get out with no money, a t-shirt, a borrowed pair of size 12 shoes (I wear 8) and a donated orange for the cause. ...

2am after securing Polizie badges, patches and making new friends, they still didn't let me cross so I backtracked around the corner and decided to run for it in the woods....    the story starts there and then really gets good....

3. 1993-  I am an olympian and have two kids, but am flat broke.  My USA Team trials are 2,000 miles away and I have $40 to my name.   I decide to try to panhandle in DC to make some cash.... this unleashes a barrage of interesting stories...

OK- i am in germany now and heading to go train with my son.... see you later.  want to hear the whole stories... let me know which ones you are interested in... :)
